Hertz Philippines and CORA Philippines Join Forces to Drive Sustainability and Accessibility in Volunteer Initiatives

Manila, Philippines – August 2024 – Nonprofit organization Communities Organized for Resource Allocation (CORA) and Hertz Philippines, a global rental car company, partnered to foster sustainability and accessibility in volunteer initiatives across the Philippines.

Under this partnership, Hertz Philippines will provide vans to support CORA Nonprofit and its volunteers in various activities, including #HashtagLunchbag feeding programs, clean-up drives, activities at the Eco-Ikot Centers, and CORA Cares relief operations. Hertz vans will facilitate the transportation needs of the nonprofit, enabling them to reach communities more efficiently and effectively.

"We are thrilled to partner with CORA Philippines in their noble endeavors to make a positive impact on communities and the environment," said Precious Gumpal, General Manager at Hertz Philippines. "By providing transportation support, we aim to not only enhance the accessibility of CORA's initiatives but also contribute to sustainable practices by offering greener solutions in transport."

CORA Nonprofit Philippines, known for its commitment to creating sustainable programs to address global issues such as hunger, poverty, inequality, and climate change, welcomes this partnership as a significant step towards amplifying their impact.

"This partnership with Hertz Philippines is a testament to our shared commitment to sustainability and accessibility," said Antoinette Taus, Founder and Executive Director of CORA Philippines. "With Hertz's support, we can now expand our reach and engage more volunteers in our efforts to create positive change in communities across the Philippines."

In an effort to bring the mission of sustainability to their company DNA, Hertz brought CORA to speak with employees for a learning opportunity on “Principles of the Circular Economy and Proper Waste Management” as part of their monthly “Let’s Know” sessions.

CORA and Hertz recently joined forces in providing relief goods to over 710 families affected by Typhoon Carina in Metro Manila, particularly in the cities of Manila and Pasig. Hertz provided safe and efficient transportation for the goods donated and volunteers.

For World Environment Day last June, CORA together with Hertz, Merrell, and Rockwell Run Club also organized a sunrise hike at the Masungi Georeserve to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our natural resources and rallying for #GenerationRestoration.
